In 2023, Vietnam had 05 teams participating, including teams from Lac Hong University (team LH-EST) and Hanoi University of Industry. These teams excellently surpassed over 100 teams to enter the final round with their electric vehicle entries (Urban Concept, Battery Electric). The final round of the competition will officially take place from July 4th to July 9th, 2023, at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, Indonesia.

Team LH-EST from Lac Hong University, comprising 16 members, are students from the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, ranging from freshmen to juniors. These young men are full of dreams and aspirations for the upcoming challenging journey. With the tradition of 05 consecutive years of championship, Lac Hong University aims to maintain their championship title at the final round in Indonesia in July 2023.

Shell Eco-marathon is a unique global program dedicated to students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines to design and manufacture ultra-energy-efficient vehicles, and then compete with these vehicles on the race track.

The program inspires thousands of students worldwide to work together in teams at their universities to put energy efficiency theories into practice, using breakthrough technologies, critical thinking, and innovative ideas.

Each year brings new stories of human effort and technical excellence, such as teams pushing the boundaries of what is possible through two main competitions:

The Mileage Challenge competition - competing to see who can complete the designated distance using the least amount of energy.

The Drivers' World Championship - combining the proven energy efficiency of vehicles with drivers' strategies, skills, and speed to see who can cross the finish line first without running out of the small amount of energy they are allocated.
