    Women’s access schemes

The university is deeply committed to promoting gender equality and supporting women’s access to higher education. Through scholarships, mentoring programs, and various other initiatives, the university aims to empower women, helping them to achieve academic, professional, and personal success.

    Scholarships

The Office of Student Admission and Public Relations promotes women’s access to education through transparent admissions procedures, gender-equal selection processes, and scholarships for female students—especially those in underrepresented fields such as STEM and engineering.
The Female Student Scholarship is an annual, fixed scholarship awarded to new entrants and also serves as a continuing scholarship for current female students who maintain good academic standing. These scholarships not only provide financial support but also encourage women to pursue careers in areas where they remain underrepresented.

    Mentoring schemes

The university offers a variety of mentoring programs designed to inspire and guide women throughout their academic journey.

    • Orientation programs for female students encourage them to pursue higher education and build confidence in academic environments.

    • With 35% of students being women, the success of female students in both learning and workplace settings is strongly supported.

    • Peer mentoring pairs female students with senior students or academic advisors, with each pair meeting at least 6–8 times a year.

    • Additionally, women staff members receive mentorship from senior academics on issues such as work–life balance, leadership development, and career advancement.

Through these mentoring schemes, the university fosters a supportive community that enables women to thrive both personally and professionally.

    Other provisions

To strengthen networks among women, the university has established a Women’s Intellectual Association, which connects female staff, senior academics, and students. The association regularly organizes mentoring sessions, workshops, and seminars on themes such as:

    1. Empowerment and Equality: Promoting Women’s Leadership in Higher Education

The university also provides soft skills training, including:

    1. Negotiation and Confident Communication Skills for Women

    2. Critical Thinking Enhancement for Students

    3. CV Writing and Interview Techniques

    4. Leadership, Public Speaking, and Digital Skills Development

In addition, meetings with successful female alumni are held regularly to share experiences and inspire current students. The university also highlights female role models through media campaigns, videos, and alumni success stories. LHU also offers opportunities for women to engage in cultural and artistic activities that foster self-confidence and public presence.

Every year, the University Trade Union Office organizes events to honor women on significant dates such as Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20) and International Women’s Day (March 8). These celebrations include experience-sharing forums, award ceremonies recognizing “Excellent Women in Work and Home Life,” and seminars on women’s health, wellness, and beauty.

Through these diverse programs and initiatives, the university demonstrates its dedication to creating an inclusive and empowering environment for women. By promoting access, leadership, and equality, it ensures that every woman can reach her full potential in academia and beyond.
