The Industry of Construction Engineering Technology - great need for human resources next time

Based on the urgent requirements of society in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution, especially in the field of Construction and transportation, the need for a team of excellent engineers is becoming increasingly important. This team needs to be comprehensively equipped with extensive knowledge, specialized skills, and personal qualities, to flexibly and effectively apply advanced technology and techniques to operational processes, construction, and management.

According to the Assessment Report on the current status of human resource quality in the Construction sector of the Vietnam Construction Association, it is expected that in the coming time, with a significant increase in Vietnam's construction demand, this field will continue to experience growth. Forecasts show that the demand for labor in the Construction industry may increase by about 400,000 - 500,000 workers each year. With this trend, the number of workers working in the Construction industry is expected to reach 12-13 million people by 2030. According to this assessment, pursuing Construction Engineering Technology is not just an option. attractive choice but also has great potential for young people in the future.

Lac Hong University's Department of Civil Engineering is one of the first 5 departments established in 1997 and has now undergone 26 years of training with more than 5,000 graduated engineers. In April 2023, the Association of Southeast Asian Universities (AUN) announced that the Faculty of Civil Engineering officially achieved international standard certification (AUN-QA) in the field of Construction Engineering Technology in Ho Chi Minh City — the organization's 320th review.

In 2024, the Faculty of Civil Engineering enrolls students in the Construction Industry at the following levels: University; Postgraduate (Master's degree); Diploma 2 - University Transfer (Evening).

To respond to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 trend and follow the direction of the Ministry of Construction on the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology in the future. The Faculty of Civil Engineering has developed an education program, announced and officially recruited, and opened 01 new major in 2024, which is Construction Informatics (Construction BIM).

Therefore, in 2024, the Faculty of Civil Engineering is admitting students for the construction sector at various levels:

1. Engineer of Construction Engineering Technology

- 03 majors: Civil & Industrial Construction, Bridge & Road Construction and Construction Informatics.

- Industry code: 7.51.01.02

- Duration: 4 years

2. Master of Civil Engineering

- Industry code: 85.80.201

- Duration: 1.5 years

3. Degree 2 - University Transfer (Evening) of Construction Engineering Technology

- 02 majors: Civil & Industrial Construction and Bridge & Road Construction.

- Industry code: 7.51.01.02

- Duration: 18 months
