One more week, Dong Nai-based LHU will officially enter the 405th ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) external assessment for four training programs: Tourism and Travel Services Management (Faculty of Administration and International Economics); Chinese Language (Faculty of Oriental Studies); Food Technology (Faculty of Food Science and Technology) and Automotive Engineering Technology (Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics).
The AUN assessment team consists of 9 experts from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, led by Mr. Prem Anand M. ARJUNAN, assessor of the Chinese Language program.
According to the schedules, the opening ceremony will take place at 8:00 a.m on September 24 at Auditorium A.301, Campus 1. After the opening session, the assessment team will work with stakeholders to interview and collect evidence. LHU where the 405th AUN-QA programme assessment's interview sessions will take place at Campus 2. The team will work at LHU in three days, from September 24 - 26, 2024. Up to now, all the preparations have been completed and ready for the assessment. It is believed that with the teaching staff's efforts along with the foundation established in previous assessments, through self-assessment and external assessment activities, the strengths and weaknesses of the training programs will be pointed out to help LHU gradually perfect its development of a quality culture.
A long journey to conquer international accreditation standards
Since 2007, LHU has begun to research and implement self-assessment activities according to the AUN-QA standards. By 2016, LHU leaders have set a goal for training programs to be assessed by domestic and international quality accreditation standards.
By 2018, LHU became the first university in Dong Nai to be recognized by the Center for Education Accreditation - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City as meeting the educational institution quality accreditation standards.
In 2019, the two training programs of LHU namely Information Engineering Technology and Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology were assessed and recognized by the AUN-QA standards.
In 2021, all four training programs including Pharmacist, Accounting, English Language and Business Administration met the AUN-QA standards. LHU's introduction videos and guidebook were honored to be selected by the AUN - QA as a model for Southeast Asian universities.
In November 2022, LHU's two programs (Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology and Information Engineering Technology) completed the ABET quality assessment process.
For University Rankings, LHU ranked 27th in 2021 and 24th in 2022 in WURI rankings. It continued to carry out activities to participate in THE Impact Rankings in the 2022-2023 academic year.
In April 2023, LHU's four more training programs (Japanese Studies, Construction Engineering Technology, Finance - Banking, Automation and Control Engineering Technology) satisfied the AUN-QA standards, bringing the total number of programs meeting the AUN-QA standards to 10.
Right after that, LHU officially carried out the external assessment at institutional level, cycle 2 according to the education accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education and Training. LHU simultaneously met all 25 standards/4 areas with fairly consistent scores.
In early 2024, LHU was proud to be the first Vietnamese university to participate in the AUN-QA assessment at institutional level, version 3.0 and be recognized with the AUN-QA standards.
